1974 : At 15 demonstrated his political acumen and vision when he became a leader of a group of students to strike against unfair distribution of marks in the school exams.Decided to join ABVP. Took on the MAFIA culture prevalent amongst the students in Raipur through ABVP.
1977 : During emergency, inspired by J P Narayan, went to jail several times.Volunteered in the Janata Party and became actively involved in students politics.
1981-82 : He became President of DurgaMahavidyalaya Raipur. Also became Chief Advisor of university student union of Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University Raipur.
1982-83 : He was chosen to the post of President student union of kalian Mahavidyalaya, Bhilai. Became the chairman of Agarwal youth boards a post on which he worked for eight years, leading the Agrawal youths unto social uplift.
1984 : Brijmohan Agarwal became active member of Bharatiya Janata Party.
1986 : Indorsing his leadership and organizational acumen the party appointed him as youth minister and later the secretary of Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha on the behest of senior BJP leader Shri Kushabhau Thackeray.
1988-90 : with his dedication and determination towards party, welfare of the people, he rose to the stature of the Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha.
1989 : maiden election from the Raipur constituency. Tidal sweep in the congress bastion with the campaign being spearheaded by the likes of stalwarts like Vidyacharan Shukla and Shyamacharan Shukla.Breaking the stronghold of congress party Brijmohan Agarwal was elected as M.L.A of Bharatiya Janata Party from Raipur city. Since then his hard work, congenial native and involvement has made him win 1993,98,2003 and 2008Vidhan Sabha elections. The margin of victory keeps increasing in each election.
1990 : became the youngest M.L.A who was chosen to Legislative Assembly of undivided Madhya Pradesh. The party and the then Chief Minister Sunder Lal Patwa included him in ministry as minister local government (Independent Charge), science and Technology and tourism. Thus he became the youngest state cabinet minister in the then BJP state government.
1991 : Rotary International conferred him with honorary membership.
1993 : nominated as a member of Privileges committee.
1997 : awarded the best MLA in the state legislative assembly of the undivided Madhya Pradesh.
1998 : acquired the position of chief whip of BJP Legislative Party while working as a minister of BJP state working committee and the public undertaking committee. He also held important position as a member and National Executive of Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha.
2000 : elected as a M.L.A from Raipur and worked as a member of public accounts committee and member of Business Advisory committee of Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha.
2003 : became M.L.A from Raipur city and allotted cabinet as minister Home, Prison, Culture and Tourism.
2005 : became Minister-Revenue, culture and tourism, Law, Rehabilitation.
2006 : additional charge of forest, sports and youth Affairs was deliberated.
2008 : became minister of School Education, Public Works Department, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism and Endowment Trust Culture under the Government of Chhattisgarh.
2013 : became minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fish Rearing, and Water Resources under the Government of Chhattisgarh. Beautification and revamping of public places, new gardens and infrastructural development under his ministry.
2014 : lauded with the KRUSHI KARMAN award from the central government for state`s record production of grains.
2015 : BJP won the Birgaon by elections with huge margins grabbing the Mayor`s seat under the able leadership of Shri Brijmohan Agrawal.
